Department of Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs

The Department of Civil Supplies was constituted during the year 1964. This Department is functioning under the Administrative control of the Secretary (Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs) consisting of a Secretariat Wing and the Directorate of Civil Supplies and the Branch Offices in three outlying regions i.e. Karaikal, Mahe and Yanam regions. The Govt. of India has brought out an enactment to protect the interest of the Consumer viz. the Consume Protection Act 1986. This U.T. of Pondicherry has framed rules viz.
